What kind of patent would i use to patent a windmill blade design?
I designed a every efficient windmill blade design. it is more efficient then the blades on commercial windmills. What kind of patent would i need to geutilityity or design?
Answer:
Since the improved efficiency is what would make it marketable, not what it looks like, a utility patent would be the one to get. One might want to pursue both, but if form follows function the utility patent would probably be enough.
[EDIT] I should clarify, I'm talking about US patents, since I an in the US and since you write in English I just assumed.
In the US there isn't (as far as I know) an "inventive patent", a utility patent covers the practial or functioal aspects of an invention.
